1. About these Terms
These Terms & Conditions govern use of the Reel Records website, account features, fishing logbook, public catch features, venue directory and booking platform. By creating an account or continuing to use Reel Records after being asked to accept a new version, you agree to these Terms.
“Reel Records”, “we”, “us” and “our” mean the operator of reelrecords.co.uk. “Angler” means a user looking for, recording or booking fishing. “Venue Owner” means a person or business listing or operating a fishery, lake, river, club, syndicate or other fishing venue. “Venue” means the relevant fishing location or operator.
If you use Reel Records on behalf of a business or organisation, you confirm that you have authority to bind that organisation.
2. Eligibility and accounts
You must provide accurate account information and keep your login details secure. You are responsible for activity carried out through your account unless caused by a security failure for which Reel Records is legally responsible.
You must not impersonate another person, create accounts for fraudulent purposes, use another person’s payment account without authority, or allow your account to be used to evade a suspension or restriction.
Where a feature has an age requirement imposed by law, a Venue, Stripe, PayPal or another provider, you must meet that requirement. Venue Owners are responsible for stating any venue-specific age or supervision rules.
3. Reel Records is a platform
Reel Records provides software that helps anglers keep fishing records, discover Venues and, where enabled, make bookings with Venue Owners. Reel Records does not own, operate, manage or control the fishing Venues listed by independent Venue Owners unless a listing expressly states otherwise.
Reel Records may provide technical tools for availability, checkout, payment initiation, confirmations, messaging and record keeping. Providing those tools does not make Reel Records the Venue Owner’s employer, partner, joint venture, insurer, property manager or the supplier of the fishing service.
4. Bookings and the contract with the Venue Owner
When an Angler completes a booking, the contract for the fishing service is directly between the Angler and the Venue Owner identified on the booking. The Venue Owner is responsible for supplying that service in accordance with its listing, its venue-specific terms, applicable consumer law and any other legal duties that apply to it.
Reel Records is not a party to that fishing-service contract. Any issue concerning access to the Venue, condition of the Venue, fishery rules, staffing, facilities, peg or swim allocation, safety at the Venue, cancellation by the Venue, rescheduling, the conduct of the Venue Owner or the conduct of the Angler is primarily a matter between the Angler and the Venue Owner.
Reel Records may provide reasonable platform support, booking records or technical information, but doing so does not transfer responsibility for the Venue Owner’s service to Reel Records.
5. Venue listings and information
Venue descriptions, photographs, rules, prices, opening information, facilities, species information, lake details, peg information and availability are supplied or controlled by Venue Owners. Venue Owners are required under their own terms with Reel Records to keep that information accurate.
Reel Records may moderate, remove or format listing content, but we do not guarantee that every Venue listing is complete, current or error-free. Anglers should read the current Venue information and venue-specific Terms & Conditions before travelling.
6. Prices and payments
Where online payment is enabled, the price shown at checkout is the amount the Venue Owner has configured for that booking. Reel Records currently adds no booking commission to the Venue Owner’s booking price. A payment provider may charge the Venue Owner its own processing fees.
Card payments may be processed through a Venue Owner’s connected Stripe account and PayPal payments through a Venue Owner’s connected PayPal account. Reel Records does not ask Anglers to provide card numbers or PayPal passwords directly to Reel Records and does not intentionally store full card details.
A paid booking is not treated as successfully paid merely because a checkout page was opened. Reel Records relies on confirmation from the relevant payment provider before recording the payment as successful.
7. Venue-specific terms
Each Venue may publish its own Terms & Conditions, Cancellation & Refund Policy, fishing rules, arrival information and other requirements. Those terms are set by the Venue Owner and may be different for every Venue.
Where venue-specific terms are presented during booking, the Angler must read and accept them before completing the booking. Reel Records records the version and an exact snapshot of the venue terms accepted for new bookings where that feature is used.
Reel Records stores and displays venue terms supplied by Venue Owners but does not draft, approve, endorse or guarantee the legal validity of those venue terms.
8. Cancellations, refunds and disputes
Cancellation, rescheduling, no-show and refund rights relating to the fishing service are governed by the Venue’s terms and applicable law. The Venue Owner is responsible for deciding and providing refunds it owes for its service, subject to legal rights that cannot be excluded.
Where Reel Records provides a technical refund button, that is a tool for the Venue Owner to instruct the original payment provider. It does not make Reel Records responsible for the underlying refund decision or Venue dispute.
If an Angler believes a Venue has failed to provide the booked service, the Angler should first contact the Venue Owner using the booking contact information. Reel Records may assist with platform records but does not adjudicate private disputes between Anglers and Venue Owners.
9. Fishing, travel and personal safety
Fishing and visiting waters can involve inherent risks including deep or moving water, unstable banks, weather, wildlife, hooks, lines, boats, platforms, slips and falls. Anglers must use reasonable care, follow Venue safety instructions, assess conditions and use suitable equipment.
Venue Owners remain responsible for duties they owe in relation to premises, facilities, staff and services. Reel Records does not inspect every Venue and does not certify that a Venue is safe merely because it appears on the platform.
10. Fishing logbook and user records
Logbook information, catches, session notes, bait, rigs, weather observations, personal bests and private fishing spots are user-provided records. Reel Records may calculate summaries, patterns and suggestions from those records, but they are informational only and are not guarantees that fish will be present or that a method will work.
Users are responsible for the accuracy of information they enter and for deciding whether to rely on any fishing insight or recommendation.
11. Location and private GPS data
Some features allow an Angler to store exact GPS locations for private spots or session features. Reel Records is designed so exact private GPS data is not included in normal public catch sharing. Users should still consider the sensitivity of fishing locations before entering or sharing location information.
Location-based features depend on device permissions, GPS accuracy and external mapping or weather services and may be inaccurate or unavailable.
12. Photos, catches and other user content
You keep ownership of content you upload. You grant Reel Records a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, copy, resize, process and display that content only as reasonably necessary to operate, secure, promote and improve the Reel Records service and, for content you deliberately make public, to display that public content through Reel Records.
You must have the right to upload the content and must not upload unlawful, defamatory, infringing, threatening, deceptive or privacy-invasive material. Reel Records may remove or restrict content where reasonably necessary for safety, law, platform integrity or these Terms.
13. Acceptable use
You must not misuse Reel Records, attempt unauthorised access, interfere with security, scrape the service at a harmful scale, upload malware, manipulate bookings, create false Venue availability, submit fraudulent payments, abuse other users, or use the platform for unlawful activity.
You must not use automated tools in a way that materially degrades the service or bypasses access controls.
14. Service availability and changes
We aim to keep Reel Records available but do not promise uninterrupted or error-free operation. Maintenance, internet failures, hosting failures, third-party provider outages or security incidents can interrupt features.
We may change, improve, discontinue or replace features. Where a material change affects paid Venue Owner functionality, we will try to provide reasonable notice where practical.
15. Responsibility and liability
Any claim about the fishing service itself should be made against the relevant Venue Owner, unless the claim arises from something Reel Records itself has done or failed to do and the law makes Reel Records responsible for it.
Reel Records does not exclude or limit liability where it would be unlawful to do so. In particular, nothing in these Terms excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by Reel Records’ own negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any other liability that cannot legally be excluded or limited. Nothing in these Terms removes an Angler’s mandatory statutory rights.
Subject to the paragraph above, Reel Records is not liable for indirect or consequential losses that were not reasonably foreseeable when you agreed to these Terms, or for business losses suffered by a consumer using Reel Records for personal purposes.
16. Third-party services
Reel Records may rely on third-party services such as Stripe, PayPal, email delivery, mapping, weather data, fonts, hosting and content-delivery services. Those providers may have their own terms and privacy information. Reel Records is not responsible for a third-party service’s independent acts or outages except to the extent Reel Records has a legal responsibility for its own selection, instructions or handling of your data.
17. Suspension and termination
We may suspend or terminate access where reasonably necessary because of fraud, security risk, serious or repeated breach of these Terms, unlawful conduct, abuse, non-payment of a paid Reel Records service, or a legal/regulatory requirement.
You may stop using Reel Records at any time. Ending an account does not automatically cancel a booking contract already made with a Venue Owner or remove obligations already accrued.
18. Privacy
Our handling of personal data is described in the Privacy Policy. Information stored on or accessed from your device is described in the Cookie Policy.
19. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms to reflect legal, security, operational or product changes. For material changes affecting registered users, Reel Records may require users to accept the new version before continuing to use account or booking features.
The version and last-updated date shown at the top identify the Terms that apply.
20. Law, consumer rights and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, subject to any mandatory consumer protections that apply where you live. If you are a consumer resident elsewhere in the United Kingdom, you may also have rights to bring proceedings in the courts applicable to your part of the UK.
Nothing in these Terms is intended to restrict rights that cannot lawfully be restricted. If a provision is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue to apply so far as legally possible.

Questions about Reel Records itself, account access, platform records or these Terms should be sent through the contact method published by Reel Records on reelrecords.co.uk. Questions about a specific fishing booking, Venue service, cancellation or refund should normally be sent directly to the relevant Venue Owner.
