1. Who these Venue Owner Terms apply to
These Venue Owner Terms apply when you create or operate a Venue Owner account, publish a Venue listing, use Full Venue features, connect a payment provider or accept bookings through Reel Records.
You confirm that you act for business or trade purposes in relation to the Venue and that you have authority to list and operate the Venue.
2. Reel Records' role
Reel Records supplies listing, booking and account-management technology. You remain the supplier of every fishing service, ticket, peg, swim, session or other Venue service sold or booked through your listing.
4. Listing accuracy
You are responsible for keeping names, addresses, photographs, facilities, species, opening information, booking availability, prices, contact details, access information and all other listing content accurate and not misleading.
You must promptly correct information that becomes inaccurate and must not use false scarcity, misleading prices, fabricated reviews, deceptive images or unavailable inventory to induce bookings.
5. Safety, legal compliance and insurance
You are responsible for the lawful and safe operation of your Venue, including premises duties, risk assessment, access, facilities, staff, fishery rules, licences and permissions, health and safety obligations, insurance and any legal requirements applicable to your business.
Listing on Reel Records is not an inspection, approval, licence or certification of your Venue. You must not state or imply that Reel Records guarantees your Venue’s safety or legal compliance.
6. Bookings and performance
You are responsible for honouring confirmed bookings, providing the advertised fishing service, maintaining accurate availability, communicating changes, managing access and dealing with the Angler in accordance with your venue-specific terms and applicable law.
You must not knowingly double-book a peg, swim or exclusive water. If a conflict occurs, you must contact affected Anglers promptly and provide any remedy required by your terms or law.
7. Your Venue Terms & Conditions
Each Venue can have its own Terms & Conditions, Cancellation & Refund Policy, fishing rules, arrival information, liability wording and contact/dispute information. You are responsible for the wording, fairness, legality and accuracy of those terms.
For paid online bookings, Reel Records may require you to provide at least Venue Terms & Conditions and a Cancellation & Refund Policy before enabling bookings.
Reel Records may store the version and exact text accepted by an Angler for evidential and support purposes, but Reel Records does not draft, approve or guarantee the enforceability of your terms.
You must not use Venue terms to remove consumer rights that cannot legally be excluded or to exclude liability that the law does not allow you to exclude.
8. Prices and availability
You set your own booking prices, pricing basis, minimum and maximum booking periods, bookable inventory and availability. You are responsible for ensuring prices displayed to Anglers are accurate and include any amount that law requires to be included in the displayed price.
Reel Records currently charges 0% booking commission. This does not remove payment-provider fees or your own taxes and costs. If Reel Records introduces or changes a platform booking fee in the future, that change will not be silently applied to an already completed booking and reasonable notice will be given where required.
9. Stripe, PayPal and payouts
You may connect Stripe, PayPal or another supported payment provider to receive booking payments. Your account with that provider is yours. You are responsible for completing identity/business verification, supplying payout details, keeping the provider account in good standing and complying with the provider’s terms.
Reel Records never needs your provider password. Payment providers process payment credentials and may deduct their own fees. Payout timing, holds, reserves and provider account restrictions are controlled by the relevant provider.
Reel Records may create payment or refund instructions through the connected provider as part of the booking tools, but the booking income is attributable to your Venue and you remain responsible for it, subject to provider rules and applicable law.
10. Cancellations, refunds, chargebacks and disputes
You are responsible for applying your cancellation policy fairly and lawfully, deciding refunds you owe, responding to Angler complaints, and dealing with chargebacks or payment disputes relating to your fishing service.
If you cancel a booking or cannot provide the agreed service, you must provide any refund, rescheduling or other remedy required by your terms or applicable law. You must not direct an Angler to Reel Records as though Reel Records were the supplier of your fishing service.
Reel Records may provide technical refund functionality or booking evidence. That support does not transfer your underlying responsibility to Reel Records.
11. Free Listing and Full Venue
A Free Listing may provide basic public directory features. Full Venue currently costs £9.99 per month and may include additional features such as galleries, lakes/waters, pegs/swims, maps, availability, bookings, booking history, automatic booking emails and blackout dates.
Paid Reel Records subscription charges are separate from Angler booking payments. If recurring billing is enabled, you are responsible for cancelling before the next renewal if you no longer want the paid plan. Features available on each plan may evolve, provided the service is not described misleadingly.
12. Tax, accounting and records
You are responsible for your own taxes, VAT treatment where applicable, accounting, invoices/receipts and regulatory obligations arising from your Venue income. Reel Records does not provide tax or accounting advice.
13. Booking data and data protection
You may receive Angler names, email addresses, phone numbers, booking dates, party size, notes and other information needed to provide the booking. You must use that data only for lawful Venue and booking purposes and protect it appropriately.
For personal data you independently use to operate your Venue, communicate with Anglers, handle disputes, maintain your customer records or market your services, you may act as an independent controller and are responsible for your own privacy obligations.
You must not add Anglers to unrelated marketing lists merely because they made a booking unless you have a lawful basis and have complied with applicable direct-marketing rules.
14. Content and intellectual property
You confirm that you own or have permission to use photographs, logos, descriptions and other content you upload. You grant Reel Records the non-exclusive rights reasonably necessary to host and display your listing and promote the Reel Records Venue directory.
You must not upload material that infringes another person’s copyright, trade mark, privacy or other rights.
15. Prohibited conduct
You must not create fake bookings, manipulate availability or reviews, misrepresent your Venue, attempt to move a booking off-platform for the purpose of avoiding an agreed Reel Records fee, misuse Angler data, use connected payment accounts fraudulently, or interfere with Reel Records security or operation.
16. Responsibility between you and the Angler
You must handle claims about the fishing service directly. You must not represent Reel Records as the operator, owner, insurer or guarantor of your Venue.
This allocation of responsibility does not exclude liability Reel Records itself has under law for its own acts or omissions, and it does not permit you to exclude liabilities or consumer rights that cannot legally be excluded.
17. Claims caused by your breach
To the extent permitted by law, if Reel Records suffers a third-party claim, regulatory cost or direct loss because you materially breached these Venue Owner Terms, unlawfully operated your Venue, infringed another person’s rights, or supplied materially false listing information, you will be responsible for reasonable losses caused by that breach. Reel Records must take reasonable steps to mitigate its loss.
18. Reel Records liability to Venue Owners
Nothing excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by Reel Records’ negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any liability that cannot legally be excluded.
Subject to that, Reel Records is not responsible for an Angler’s conduct, an Angler’s inability to attend, chargebacks caused by the underlying Venue service, loss caused by inaccurate information you supplied, or losses that arise because your connected payment provider suspends or restricts your provider account.
For business users, Reel Records is not liable for indirect or consequential business losses, loss of goodwill, loss of anticipated profit or loss of opportunity except where such exclusion is prohibited by law.
19. Suspension and removal
Reel Records may suspend a listing, booking capability or account where reasonably necessary because of serious safety concerns, fraud, unlawful conduct, repeated complaints, misleading listing information, payment risk, non-payment of Reel Records subscription charges, misuse of Angler data or material/repeated breach of these terms.
Where appropriate and lawful, Reel Records will give the Venue Owner an opportunity to correct a problem before permanent removal, but immediate action may be taken for urgent safety, fraud or legal risks.
20. Ending your Venue account
You may stop listing a Venue or cancel a paid Reel Records plan, subject to any billing terms shown at the time. Ending the Reel Records account does not remove obligations owed to Anglers under bookings already made.
You should deal with all outstanding bookings, refunds and customer communications before closing your Venue account.
21. Changes to these Terms
Reel Records may update these Venue Owner Terms for legal, security, commercial or product reasons. Material changes may require renewed acceptance before payment or booking tools can be used.
22. Law and disputes
These Venue Owner Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. If you operate as a business, the courts of England and Wales will have jurisdiction over disputes with Reel Records, subject to any mandatory law that applies otherwise.
